Privacy Notice

This page explains what InterviewReadyNot collects when you use interviewreadynot.com, why, how long we keep it, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do. It is written to be read, not skimmed past. The Terms of Use are the other half.

Who runs this

InterviewReadyNot isn't a company. It's run by Kiarash Adl, an individual in Texas doing business as InterviewReadyNot. Where this page says "InterviewReadyNot," "we," or "us," it means him. He is the controller of your personal data under the GDPR and UK GDPR, and the business under California law.

We may later form a company to run InterviewReadyNot. If we do, we'll update this page before that company handles your data, and say so under What changed.

Privacy questions and requests go to privacy@interviewreadynot.com. We don't publish a mailing address. If you need one to send a legal notice, ask at that address and we'll give you one.

The short version

• You must be 18 or older.
• Your browser records your answers and sends the audio to us to be turned into text. We don't store the audio.
• Your transcript, AI scores and coach report are deleted automatically after 90 days, or sooner if you ask.
• Your report lives at a private link. Anyone who has the link can see it.
• AI scores are practice feedback. This isn't a job application, and nobody makes a hiring decision from it.
• We don't use your content to train AI models, and our AI providers' terms don't allow them to use it to train theirs.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We use Microsoft Advertising and Microsoft Clarity to measure our ads and see how the site is used. In the EEA, UK, Switzerland and Quebec they stay off until you allow them. Everywhere, you can turn them off with Your Privacy Choices, and a Global Privacy Control signal turns them off automatically.

What we collect, and why

The "legal basis" column applies if you're in the EEA, UK or Switzerland.

You don't have to give us your email or say anything in the interview, and you can stop at any time. Without the audio of your answers, we can't score you.

Public pages show school and campaign names, campaign descriptions and creation dates, and totals (participants, passes, attempts, average score). They never show emails.

Your voice and the AI judges

Your audio goes to a speech-to-text model (Azure OpenAI, run by Microsoft) that turns it into a transcript. We use the audio for nothing else, and we don't store it. We don't ask our provider to create a voiceprint of you or to identify you by your voice, and we don't use your voice to identify you.

Five AI judges then read your transcript. They use models from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT) and xAI (Grok), reached through Microsoft Foundry. The scores aren't used for recruitment, hiring or educational assessment. Each judge scores it three times. We also measure the length and pace of each answer. Everyone who finishes gets delivery notes, and a coach report unless the coach model fails.

No significant automated decisions. The scores are practice feedback. They don't produce any decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you. Even a pass only becomes public after we check the transcript ourselves and sign it off, and only with your consent. A pass is not a job offer.

No AI training. We don't use your content to train AI models. The terms we use our AI providers under (Microsoft for the OpenAI and xAI models, and Anthropic for Claude) don't allow them to use it to train their models either.

How long we keep it

Who else handles it

We share personal data only with the services that run InterviewReadyNot for us, and only what each one needs:

• Cloudflare: hosting, storage, email sending, and looking up your country from your IP address.
• Microsoft Azure: transcription (Azure OpenAI), and the AI judges and coach that use OpenAI and xAI models. They receive your audio (for transcription) or your transcript (for scoring and coaching).
• Anthropic: the judges that use Claude models, which Anthropic runs through Microsoft Foundry as its own service. They receive your transcript.
• Microsoft Advertising and Microsoft Clarity: see Cookies, storage and Your Privacy Choices. Microsoft may also use this data as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

The people we authorize as admins can see a campaign owner's email and the email on a school request, so they can manage campaigns and schools. The admin tools don't show the emails of people who took part in a campaign: the campaign record keeps only a hash, and your sign-in session keeps your email for up to 30 days.

Anyone who has your report link can see your report. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if InterviewReadyNot moves to a new operator (including a company we form). If that happens, this notice keeps applying to data collected under it.

We do not sell your personal information

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.

The Microsoft Advertising tag sends identifiers and site activity to Microsoft to measure our ads, and Microsoft may use it for ad targeting. Some U.S. state laws, including California's, call that "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, so we treat it that way. You can opt out with Your Privacy Choices or a Global Privacy Control signal; see below.

We don't use sensitive personal information for anything beyond providing the service you asked for, and we don't knowingly sell or share the data of anyone under 18.

International transfers

We're in the United States, and we and our providers process data in the United States and other countries whose data protection rules may differ from yours. For data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, our providers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK addendum), or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (an adequacy decision) where they're certified. Email privacy@interviewreadynot.com for a copy of the safeguards.

Your rights

To use any right below, email privacy@interviewreadynot.com. To find your interview, we need your report link; interviews aren't tied to an account, so we can't find one without it. We may ask you to confirm an email address with a code before we act. We respond within the time the law allows, usually within one month (45 days under California law), and tell you if we need longer where the law permits it.

Everyone

• Delete your interview early. Send us your report link. If it counted in a School Challenge campaign, tell us your email too, so we can remove your participant record.
• Leave the email list. Email privacy@interviewreadynot.com.
• Turn off Microsoft Advertising and Clarity. Use Your Privacy Choices.
• Withdraw consent to public recognition at any time; we'll take it down.

EEA, UK and Switzerland

You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or receive it in a portable format, and you can withdraw consent at any time (this doesn't affect what we did before). You can also complain to your data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, your national authority.

California and other U.S. states

You can ask to know what we collect, use and disclose; get a copy; delete it; correct it; and opt out of "sharing." You can use an authorized agent. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. In the last 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (email, hashed IP address, online identifiers), audio recordings and transcripts, internet and device activity (through Microsoft Advertising and Clarity), approximate location (country), and inferences (your interview scores). Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other states with similar laws can make the same requests the same way.

Where it comes from: you, your browser and device, Cloudflare (your country, from your IP address), and Microsoft (advertising and Clarity data). We disclosed identifiers, audio and transcripts, and inferences to Cloudflare, Microsoft Azure and Anthropic to run the Service, and "shared" identifiers and internet activity with Microsoft Advertising for advertising. To use an authorized agent, have the agent email privacy@interviewreadynot.com with your signed permission; we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly. We don't sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

India

You can ask for a summary of the personal data we process and who we share it with, ask us to correct, update or erase it, have a grievance addressed, and nominate someone to act for you if you die or can't act. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it, by emailing us. Grievances go to privacy@interviewreadynot.com. To withdraw consent, email privacy@interviewreadynot.com with the subject "Withdraw consent". If you're not satisfied, you can go to the Data Protection Board of India.

Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore

Your information is stored and processed outside your country, including outside Quebec and Canada, mainly in the United States. The person in charge of protecting personal information (Quebec), and our Data Protection Officer (Singapore), is Kiarash Adl, at privacy@interviewreadynot.com. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information, or Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission.

Cookies, storage and Your Privacy Choices

What we use

• irn_v cookie (ours, HttpOnly, 30 days): keeps you signed in for the School Challenge. Strictly necessary for that feature.
• Browser storage (irn-attempt, irn-consent, irn-confetti-…): lets you resume an interview in progress, remembers your privacy choice, and shows a celebration only once. It stays on your device.
• Microsoft Advertising UET tag: measures how our ads perform, and may support ad targeting. It can set cookies and send Microsoft your IP address, device information, the pages you visit, and whether you started an interview or joined the email list. It doesn't run on report pages.
• Microsoft Clarity, loaded with the UET tag: shows us how people use the site through usage metrics, heatmaps and session replays. Text you type into forms is masked. It uses first- and third-party cookies.

Microsoft collects this data using first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies, and is a separate controller for its own use of it: it may use it to provide and improve its products, for fraud and security, and to build profiles for advertising, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can also opt out of Microsoft's personalized ads in your Microsoft ad settings, or through the NAI and DAA opt-out pages.

Your choices

• EEA, UK, Switzerland and Quebec: neither Microsoft Advertising nor Clarity loads until you press Allow.
• Everywhere else: they're on by default. Turn them off with Your Privacy Choices (also in every page footer). Once you turn them off, they stop storing advertising cookies right away and don't load on any later page in that browser unless you allow them again.
• Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, Microsoft Advertising and Clarity never load, and we treat the signal as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser. We check for it on every visit, everywhere.
• You can also block cookies in your browser. School Challenge sign-in needs the irn_v cookie, so it won't work without it.

Minimum age

You must be 18 or older to use InterviewReadyNot. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has used it, email us and we'll delete their data.

Security

Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Only admins we authorize can use the admin tools, and they sign in with an emailed code. We keep hashes instead of IP addresses, and campaign records use a hash instead of participants' emails. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes, and what changed

We may update this notice. Changes take effect when we post them here, and the date at the top changes with them, with an entry under What changed. If a change is material, such as a new use of your data or a new kind of recipient, we'll show a notice on the site before it applies. We won't use personal data we already hold in a materially different way without first getting your consent; otherwise a change applies only to data collected after it. We review this notice at least once every 12 months.
